Jeep History - 00's
60th anniversary edition Wrangler
2001 marked the 60th year of Jeep. To celebrate, a 60th anniversary edition of the Wrangler, Cherokee and Grand Cherokee were launched.
Starting with the basic Wrangler platform, Jeep engineers gave the Jeep the most thorough overhaul since the Quad evolved into the MB. Nearly 80% of its parts were newly designed.
New Jeep Cherokee
In 1997, DaimlerChrysler showcased a concept called the Jeep Dakar - a four door Jeep Wrangler with a longer wheelbase - and it 1998, the Jeepster was unveiled - a concept that brought the power of a sports car with the ability to tackle the Rubicon trail.
In 2001, these two concepts were ultimately merged into one; the New Jeep Cherokee - a vehicle that can complete the Rubicon Trail, perform well on the road and offer the passengers in the front and back a comfortable trip.
