Chrysler LLC names a new Managing Director in the UK

Chrysler LLC today named Simon Elliott as the new Managing Director of Chrysler UK Ltd. In this position, Elliot is responsible for all operational activities in the UK.

Elliott was President and CEO of Chrysler LLC China, where sales increased 13 per cent in 2007. Also, he was voted "CEO of the Year" at the recent China Imported Automobile Top List Awards, one of the top accolades in the Chinese automotive industry.

"Simon’s experience in sales, marketing, dealer network development and more recently joint venture operations in China, is a real asset for our company and we will definitely leverage this experience in the UK, our third largest market outside of North America," said Michael Manley, Executive Vice President of International Sales, Marketing and Business Development.

Elliott joined Chrysler in 2000 and has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry.

"I am extremely glad to come back home to work with the excellent team in Milton Keynes and with our great dealer network," said Elliott. "We have launched 14 new vehicles in the UK in the last two years and this product offensive will continue in 2008 with the retail launch of Jeep® Cherokee, Chrysler Grand Voyager, Chrysler Sebring Cabrio and Dodge Journey. I am looking forward to a great 2008."

This appointment is effective immediately and until a replacement is named in China, Elliott will also manage the Chrysler LLC operations there.
