Understanding charging power (the speed at which your electric vehicle recharges) depends on two factors: the maximum charging power of the vehicle and the power level of the charging station. Together, these determine how quickly your battery can recharge.

For example:
• Using a domestic socket (up to 2.3 kW) with the right cable, it would take approximately 7 hours and 50 minutes to charge 100 km of range.
• Upgrading to an easyWallbox with professional installation (providing up to 7.4 kW) reduces the charging time for 100 km of range to about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
• Fast public chargers can deliver up to 300 kW, drastically reducing charging time and making long trips more convenient, with many vehicles able to regain 100 km of range in just a few minutes.

WHAT AFFECTS CHARGING SPEED

Several factors can influence how fast your electric vehicle charges:
• State of Charge (SOC): With DC fast charging (over 50 kW): the charging speed naturally slows down as the battery approaches full capacity.
• Charging station use: If multiple vehicles are charging simultaneously, the available power is shared, potentially slowing down your charging speed.
• Temperature: Cold weather can reduce charging time – the colder your vehicle’s battery, the longer it may take to charge.
