Hypnotic sounds that will leave you breathless
Up-and-coming French band The Midnight Revolution liken their music to a journey in a time machine, and there’s definitely a strong element of nostalgia in what they do. Lead singer Lys, has a voice that harkens to a mystical time-out-of-time - let’s just say, she wouldn’t have sounded out of place soundtracking the life of a hippie commune in the Seventies. The music beneath her voice, though, isn’t as folky as you would expect: it feeds on the atmosphere and melody of 90s dream pop, peppered with a pinch of psychedelia. They've also recently recorded a well-received live session for the famous US radio-slash-YouTube Channel KEXP.
