This powerful, fuel-efficient engine takes full advantage of our advanced MultiAir® technology. The system varies the volume of air consumed by the engine, resulting in superior performance and strong pulling power.
The efficient 2.0L turbo MultiJet II diesel engine available on the new Jeep® Compass features second generation Multijet technology and has four valves per cylinder and double overhead camshafts (DOHC). This 2.0L turbo diesel produces maximum power of 170hp and comes with our 9-speed automatic transmission.
This powerful, fuel-efficient, turbocharged engine takes full advantage of our advanced MultiAir® technology. The system varies the volume of air consumed by the engine, resulting in superior performance and strong pulling power. The six-speed manual transmission is standard.
The efficient 1.6L Turbocharged MultiJet II diesel engine with 6-speed manual transmission is available on 4x2 versions giving 120 hp combined with CO2 emissions of just 117 g/km.
When it’s time to haul, the Jeep® Compass steps up. The 2.0L MultiJet II diesel engine provides a maximum towing capacity of up to 1,900 kgs. This tow rating is useful for hauling everything from folding camp trailers to trailers for small boats, motorcycles and snowmobiles.
The Jeep® Compass offers two innovative driveline systems for Best-in-Class 4x4 capability. Jeep® Active Drive and Jeep® Active Drive Low automatically and seamlessly switch between 4x2 and 4x4 for full-time torque management and optimal traction.
Enabled by an innovative power-transfer unit (PTU), Jeep® Active Drive is fully automatic and delivers seamless operation in and out of four-wheel drive, and at any speed. This system requires no driver intervention, delivers yaw correction during dynamic events. Providing up to 2,000 Nm of torque to the rear wheels.
Jeep® Active Drive Low builds on the Jeep® Active Drive system and affords a 20:1 crawl ratio and low range for 4x4 Trail Rated®capability, including the exclusive five-mode Jeep Selec-Terrain®system for Best-in-Class off-road performance and Hill-descent Control.
Jeep Active Drive and Active Drive Low feature the brand’s Selec-Terrain® traction-control system. Selec-Terrain® allows you to dial in the desired on or off-road setting: Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud modes, and exclusively on the Trailhawk® model, Rock mode. The system is designed to optimize the four-wheel-drive systems for unsurpassed control and capability and electronically coordinates and optimizes up to 12 systems on any terrain providing enhanced vehicle control.
