CONGESTION CHARGE

The London Congestion Charge is a daily fee for driving in central London’s congestion zone. As of 22nd June 2024, the charge applies from 07:00 to 22:00, seven days a week, with a daily rate of £15 for an indefinite period. Fully electric Jeep® vehicles qualify for the 100% Cleaner Vehicle Discount, exempting them from the fee.

ULTRA LOW EMISSION ZONES

Fully electric Jeep vehicles have zero tailpipe emissions while driving and therefore can enter London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) without paying the £12.50 daily noncompliance fee. The ULEZ currently covers all London boroughs, and for drivers entering the zone daily, the cost of noncompliance could add up to £4,550 per year.

COMPANY CAR TAX (BENEFIT IN KIND)

Fully electric Jeep® vehicles qualify for a 3% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate for the 2025/2026 tax year. This will increase by 1% each year until it reaches 7%. In comparison, petrol and diesel vehicles typically have a BiK rate of 20% to 37%, making electric Jeeps a more tax-efficient choice for company car drivers.

PERFORMANCE AND COMFORT

WHAT IS TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP?

Buying a Jeep® is more than just an investment in adventure, it's a long-term decision that goes beyond the initial purchase price. That’s why it’s important to consider the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). This includes the price of your vehicle, running costs like fuel or charging, maintenance, servicing, and vehicle tax.

When comparing powertrains, upfront costs can be misleading. While electric vehicles may have a higher initial price, their lower running costs often make them more cost-effective over time. Charging is typically cheaper than refuelling, and EVs generally require less maintenance. That means with an electrified Jeep®, you get the best of both worlds; legendary capability and long-term savings.

Key factors that contribute to TCO include:

Energy or fuel costs* – EV charging can be significantly cheaper than fuel. For example, using the average petrol and electric costs for the UK (as of 13th March 2025) the Jeep® Avenger Petrol costs £12.63 per 100 miles to run, in comparison the Jeep® Avenger Full Electric costs nearly half as much at £6.74 over the same distance.
Vehicle tax – Our Jeep® Avenger Full Electric costs £10 in road tax for the first year if registered between 01/04/25 and 01/04/26. In comparison the vehicle tax on the Jeep® Avenger Petrol will be £440 for the first year if registered after April 1st 2025 (as of 13th March 2025).
Servicing & maintenance – Fewer mechanical parts in electric vehicles mean lower upkeep costs.
Finance payments - Although monthly agreements for a petrol vehicle can be more affordable than electric vehicles, electric vehicles can benefit from savings through tax, servicing and charging.
